Kroll Ontrack Acquisition of Ibas Holdings Connects World Leading Data Recovery Experts

In a deal that further strengthens its worldwide leadership position in the data recovery and computer forensics marketplace, Kroll Ontrack has acquired Ibas Holdings ASA, a leading Norwegian-based provider of data recovery, data erasure and computer forensics services. Ontrack Data Recovery is division of Kroll Ontrack. In 2005, Ibas acquired Vogon International, a privately-held United Kingdom company, provider of data recovery and specialist in computer forensics.

By combining the strengths of these organizations, our customers in more than 21 countries can expect even more leading-edge data recovery and computer forensics solutions. Ontrack History:

Ontrack was founded in 1985 when its founders perceived the limitation of 32 MB at DOS operational system (at that time the HDs had this size) and the users could not format HDs with bigger size with 40 MB or more. Then Ontrack developed its first product "Disk Manager". All manufacturers started offering this software together with the HDs as a solution for its customers.

Due to direct relationship with the HDs manufacturers, from 1987 Ontrack started providing Data Recovery Services. This know-how is what other companies can not offer. Since its foundation the company has rescued files from more  than 125,000 systems. In 2002 Kroll acquired Ontrack and appeared a new company named Kroll Ontrack.
